Everyone intuitively realizes how much our thoughts and mind affect how successful, happy, wealthy we are. And how unsuccessful, unhappy, and lacking wealth we are. Very few people understand that 90% or more of EVERYTHING we do, think, say or feel is generated out of our conscious awareness - By our subconscious programming. So the first thing we need to do is something that has been talked about in such books as "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill and countless self-help books. We need to effectively write a clear and effective Goal statement or "affirmation" of what we would like in our lives.
So, how DO we create a clear and effective Goal statement/affirmation?
There are several factors which affect whether an affirmation will be effective.
1. The affirmation should be in the first person (I or me).
2. The affirmation should be in the present tense.
3. The affirmation should be positive and not the reverse of a negative.
You should write the affirmation as if you are talking to yourself. Your subconscious mind works in the present only so the messages should be in the present tense. You should prompt your mind about things you do want to think about and not about things you do not want to think about.
For example, if you write, " I do not want to smoke" then the image which your mind uses is based on the word "smoke" and is not productive.
Example:
You should use the first person (I am relaxed),
current tense (I am relaxed),
positive (I am relaxed).
You should be careful not to use negative affirmations (ie. I am not tense) because these remind you of negative thoughts.
