First pick a number from 3-6. Whenever you are walking simply count your steps. For instance, if you pick the number 4, simply count your steps . 1...2...3...4... and start over again at 1.
Now here's how to use it with a switchword.
- Pick the switchword and/or switchwords you want to focus on.
- (For this example, let's use the words "together and reach")
- Now coordinate your words with your steps.
- When you step with your left foot, silently say "together"
- When you step with your right foot, silently say "reach"
- Rinse and repeat as they say :)
- Remember if you lose your train of thought, simply go back to focusing on your switchword. No need to beat yourself up over it.
